Ectopic Parathyroid Adenoma in the Framework of an MEN1

چکیده
Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1 or Wermer syndrome) is a rare hereditary disease, and especially its association with ectopic parathyroid adenomas even more. Defined As tumor developing in at least two glands including the anterior pituitary gland, duodeno-pancreatic tissue. This autosomal dominant pathology caused by mutation of NEM1 gene encoding suppressor menin located on chromosome 11q13. There is, however, sporadic cases account for 8 to 14%. Primary hyperparathyroidism frequent secondary autonomous overproduction PTH (parathyroid hormone); it mostly due (solitary multiple). Diagnosis purely biochemical. Cervical ultrasound MIBI scintigraphy most often performed first line good diagnostic performance, surgery only curative treatment primary hyperparathyroidism, reason why preoperative localization best per-operative detection case an adenoma ensure proper resection avoid subsequent recurrences.

Ectopic mediastinal parathyroid adenoma.
Ectopic mediastinal parathyroid adenomas may be cause of Primary Hyperparathyroidism (PH). The occurrence of these lesions is explainable on embryologic basis. We report the case of a 20-year-old patient with PH due to an ectopic mediastinal parathyroid adenoma located in the anterior mediastinum. After its accurate pre-operative localization, surgical resection through a cervical manubriotomy ...
متن کاملEctopic intravagal parathyroid adenoma.
BACKGROUND Intraneural parathyroid adenomas are rare, with only 9 cases of intravagal adenomas reported. All but one of the reported cases was found after multiple neck explorations. To the best of our knowledge, we report the first case of nonsupernumerary ectopic intravagal parathyroid identified at primary exploration. METHODS AND RESULTS A 17-year-old girl with primary hyperparathyroidism...
متن کاملEctopic parathyroid adenoma in child.
A 10-year old girl presented with fatigue, hypercalcemia, and subperiosteal phalangeal osteolytic lesions. Ultrasonography and MIBI scintigraphy showed a structure near the lower pole of thyroid gland. The structure macroscopically appeared as adenoma, histologically it was thymic tissue. Bilateral neck exploration together with exploration of cervical thymic extensions was performed; adenoma w...
متن کاملHyperparathyroidism related to an ectopic parathyroid adenoma
A 46-year-old female with a history of muscle weakness, nephrolithiasis and peptic ulcer. She was found to have hypercalcemia (115 mg/l), hypophosphoremia (16 mg/l) and increased PTH serum level (1090 pg/l). In order to discriminate between PH and pseudohyperparathyroidism, a solid-phase, two site chemiluminescent enzyme-labeled immunometric assay directed towards the intact PTH molecule was us...
متن کاملLocalization of ectopic parathyroid adenoma with Tc-99m-MIBI [Persian]
Ectopic paratliyroid adenoma might create a clinical dilemma in patients with hypercalcemia. Radioisotopic scan is a sensitive and noninvasive method which can be useful in these patients. In this report a case of ectopic parathyroid adenoma is presented and the usefulness of TC-99m-MIBI scintigraphy as compared with other modalities is discussed.
